How do I get paid for my work on WorkStation?

OneSpace issues payments via PayPal. Before you’ll be able to submit any work on WorkStation, you’ll need to connect a verified PayPal account. Your payments from OneSpace will be directly deposited into that account.

Why does my PayPal account need to be verified?

Verifying your identity increases trust and security between you and OneSpace. It gives us added confidence that you are who you say you are. It also helps us make sure we can pay you and that you are able to access those funds.

How do I verify my PayPal account?

To verify a U.S. PayPal account, you must complete two of the following three steps:

  • Link and confirm your bank account
  • Verify your credit or debit card information
  • Provide your Social Security number

For non-U.S. PayPal accounts, please refer to your country-specific PayPal user agreement to learn how to verify your account.

Please note that PayPal account verification can take several business days.

Can I get paid a different way?

Unfortunately you can't. PayPal is currently the only payment provider OneSpace supports.*

When will I get paid?

Our goal is to pay you as quickly as possible, so we try to review and pay you for all work within 24 to 48 hours. However, for complex projects with multi-step review processes, review times can sometimes last 3 to 7 business days.

When you submit a task on WorkStation, we automatically send it to our quality-control team for review. You will not be paid for the task until our reviewers can verify that it meets the requirements outlined in the instructions.

While your task is being reviewed, the Task Status on the Task History page will say “Pending” and the Payment Status will say “None”:

If the reviewer determines that your work meets the requirements, your task will be accepted and you will be paid. At this point, the Task Status will change to “Approved” and the Payment Status will change to “Owed”:

If a task can’t be used because it doesn’t follow the instructions, there’s a chance you may not be paid for it. In these instances, the Task Status will say “Rejected” and the Payment Status will say “Unpaid”:

In some cases, we’ll give you a chance to fix the errors in your original submission before we reject your work (and your payment). For more information on that, click here.

Sometimes we’ll pay you for a task even if we can’t use it. In these instances, the Task Status column will say “Rejected” and the Payment Status column will say “Owed”:

Payments are issued seven days a week at approximately 3:00 a.m. Central time, so money that is owed to you will be transferred to your PayPal account when payments go out the next morning. At that point, the Payment Status will change from “Owed” to “Paid.” If tasks are still displaying as “Owed” after 12:00 p.m. CT, please email us at support@onespace.com.

Is it safe to log in to OneSpace WorkStation with my PayPal account?

Absolutely! OneSpace uses PayPal oAuth as a single, secure solution to verify identity. PayPal oAuth ensures that OneSpace will never see or store your PayPal password. At no point does OneSpace receive or have access to any of your PayPal account or financial information.

You can read more about PayPal oAuth integration here.

*Sometimes OneSpace will recruit freelancers from Upwork. These freelancers are paid via Upwork instead of PayPal.
